Blessed Be & Brightest Blessings

  • Mood:

It only seemed fitting to dedicate this entry to the victims of hurricane Katrina. It is heartbreaking to see the news footage of the aftermath of nature's wrath. It is an outrage that they all have had to wait SO LONG for the help that they so desperately need. The nation is faced with the bitter truth of the difference in speed to help those who are less fortunate than others. How quickly help arrived when tragedy struck the "rich" shores of Florida, yet left a poverty stricken New Orleans to die in feces infested flood water or to bake in the sun on roof tops. The government was so quick to drop food and supplies to the masses in Iraq, yet, when it came to saving it's own people they worked at a turtle's pace. The government should never have sat on it's heels as long as it did and all of those people deserve a personal apology from the president himself...well, if his word actually meant something after this anyway. Maybe some day, everyone will be treated equally, no matter what thier social status may be.

To all of you whom have been effected, my heart and my thoughts go out to you. May the Goddess keep and protect you and your family. Blessed Be & Brightest Blessings.
